Sterling Silver is made from 92.5 % pure silver. The remaining 7.5 % will usually be copper
or some mix of mostly copper and a small amount of argentium on occasion. Pure 100 % while not much more costly than sterling
is too soft to be used for jewelry. Pure silver will bend and break easily and will not hold a shine as long as Sterling.
All our Sterling Silver jewelry is made from 92.5 pure Sterling. Many imported jewelry items are being made from .666 Sterling
and as such will sell for less.
Cleaning Sterling Silver and Gold Filled jewelry is as easy as washing the jewelry in soap and water
( any hand soap or dish soap will do) after each wearing. Dry the jewelry and store it in an anti-tarnish ziplock bag out
of the light. This done faithfully will prevent the tarnish
build up on sterling silver and keep gold filled clean.
You can also use a commercial polishing cloth or metal polish to clean heavily tarnished jewelry.
Both polishing cloths and anti-tarnish bags are available from us.
